What is the safety net?
The safety net equals your maximum drawdown and must be built before your first payout on every funded account.
Updated November 2, 2026
The safety net is a profit buffer you need to build on your funded account before your first payout. It protects your account from being breached right after you withdraw. The safety net is equal to your maximum drawdown: 4% of the account size.
Safety net by account size
| Account size | Safety net | Balance needed before the first payout |
|---|---|---|
| 10K | $400 | Above $10,400 |
| 15K | $600 | Above $15,600 |
| 25K | $1,000 | Above $26,000 |
| 50K | $2,000 | Above $52,000 |
| 100K | $4,000 | Above $104,000 |
| 150K | $6,000 | Above $156,000 |
How it works
For your first payout, only the profit above the safety net can be withdrawn. The safety net itself stays in the account.
Example on a 50K account:
| Amount | |
|---|---|
| Account balance | $53,500 |
| Safety net level | $52,000 |
| Available to withdraw | $1,500 |
| You receive (90% split) | $1,350 |
Applies to every funded account
| Account | Safety net before the first payout |
|---|---|
| Livex | Yes |
| Direct Pass | Yes, and the first payout must be the full amount available above the safety net |
| Freedom | Yes |
Why it matters
Without a safety net, withdrawing your profit would leave your balance close to the drawdown limit, and a small loss could breach the account. The safety net keeps a buffer, so you can keep trading safely after your first payout.
Your safety net progress is shown in real time on your account page and in Dashboard → Payouts.
