Not every rule has the same consequence. Some rules end the account immediately, others only pause trading or delay your payout.
Consequences by rule
| Rule | What happens |
|---|---|
| Maximum drawdown reached | Account breached. Open positions are closed and the account can no longer be traded |
| Daily loss limit reached (Edge, Direct Pass) | Trading paused until the next session. The account stays active |
| Consistency rule not met | Nothing is closed. You just need to keep trading before passing or requesting a payout |
| Position held overnight, first time | Warning. The account stays active |
| Position held overnight or over the weekend again | Account closed |
| Prohibited practices (bots, hedging, account sharing, account passing…) | Account closed and pending payouts cancelled |
When an account is breached
- Your open positions are closed automatically and the account is disabled for trading.
- You receive an email and the account is marked as Breached in your dashboard, with the reason and the time.
- The account's history stays available in your dashboard.
What can I do next?
- Challenge Flex or Edge: you can reset your Challenge at a reduced price and start again with a fresh account.
- Livex, Direct Pass or Freedom: a breached funded account cannot be reactivated. You can start a new Challenge or buy a new funded account at any time.
Do I lose access to my other accounts?
No. A breach only affects the account where it happened. Your other active accounts keep working normally, with the same Rithmic login.
If you believe your account was breached by mistake, contact our team through the live chat with your account login, and we will review it.
