Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds a second layer of security to your Winbance account. Besides your password, you confirm important actions with a 6-digit code that changes every 30 seconds in an app on your phone.
When is 2FA required?
| Action | 2FA |
|---|---|
| Requesting a payout | Required |
| Adding or changing a payout method | Required |
| Requesting affiliate commission payouts | Required |
| Logging in | Recommended |
What you need
An authenticator app on your phone, for example:
- Google Authenticator
- Microsoft Authenticator
- Authy
- 1Password or another password manager with 2FA support
How to enable it
- Go to Dashboard → Settings → Security.
- Click Enable two-factor authentication.
- Open your authenticator app and scan the QR code shown on the screen. If you can't scan it, enter the setup key manually.
- Enter the 6-digit code shown in your app to confirm.
- 2FA is now active. You will see it marked as Enabled in Security.
- Save your 8 recovery codes. Each one can be used once if you lose access to your phone.
Keep access to your codes
- Save your setup key in a safe place when you activate 2FA. It lets you restore 2FA on a new phone.
- If you change your phone, move your authenticator app to the new device before resetting the old one.
- If you lose access, see I lost access to my 2FA device.
Good to know
- Winbance staff will never ask you for your 2FA codes. Never share them with anyone.
- If a code is not accepted, check that the time on your phone is set automatically. A wrong time generates wrong codes.
